Loan debt waiver: BJP slams govt over CAG's report

The BJP has slammed the central government after the government auditor CAG pointed out irregularities in the farm debt waiver scheme, which saw Rs.52,000 crore being spent by the government to write off loans for small farmers. The CAG has said that there were serious lapses and malpractices in implementing the government's Rs.52,000 crore farm loan waiver scheme in 2008.
