Mahaseer fish attracts anglers and tourists to Banghat

The flourishing population of the golden Mahseer fish, one of the best sport fish, in the Ramganga River in Banghat is attracting a good number of tourists and anglers in Banghat at Uttar Pradesh. The dwindling number of golden mahseer, one of the fiercest fighting freshwater game fish, had become a matter of concern due to illegal fishing, over-population, and construction of dams and use of pesticide.
