Man breaks Christ's idol in M'lore Church

In an astonishing incident, a man broke into the St Alphonsa Church and damaged the idol of Jesus Christ and the Holy Cross, in Mangalore on Thursday. The man, who was identified as Shiva, hailed from Jalligudde. It was also learnt that he went into the priest's private chambers, removed his clothes and tried to wear the holy vestments, before he was discovered by a couple of students staying at a hostel near the church. Shiva has been placed under arrest, based on a complaint lodged by the church authorities.
