Maoists attack JKM constructions in Bihar

Updated on Aug 29, 2010 10:34 pm IST

Maoist rebels torched construction materials of a road construction office in Bihar, since the engineers and other staff did not pay 2 percent levy demanded by them, company officials said on Sunday. About 400 armed rebels attacked the office of JKM constructions at Sonho village in Chhapra district of the state. Though there was no damage to anyone's life, the rebels made the labourers hostage and torched vehicles used for construction purposes. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has called the Maoists India's gravest internal security threat.
