A group of Maoists damaged a school and a building housing irrigation department office on Tuesday in Bihar. Over 200 rebels also set alight the irrigation department office, and then fired over hundreds of bullets, which kept the locals indoors. The Maoists told a local they had destroyed the two buildings to protest the killing of six of their cadres. Police had killed six Maoists and nabbed one during a gunfight that lasted for seven hours in Majhadih, a forested area in Banka district of the state on February 26.
