Maoists trigger landmine blasts in Jharkhand

During their 48-hour shutdown call Maoists triggered three landmine blasts in Simdega district of Jharkhand on Wednesday. Reportedly, the landmines were of low intensity, although a crater like pit was created due to the blasts. According to the police officials, during the routine patrol, they found a banner put up by Maoists on the side of a road. When the police personnel tried to pull off the banner, the landmine was ignited and the blast took place.
