Martyrs remembered

India on Saturday paid tribute to the martyrs of Quit India Movement, on the 66th anniversary of the event. A function was held in Mumbai from where the father of nation, Mahatma Gandhi, launched the Quit India Movement to commemorate the day. On August 8, 1942, a resolution was passed at the All India Congress Committee session, which sanctioned the start of a mass struggle on non-violent lines.
