Mask making to earn a livelihood

The traditional craft of mask making in Sikkim appears as a ray of hope for many unemployed youth, who seek a livelihood.Promoting and preserving the fine ethnic art and craft of Sikkim, the Directorate of Handloom and Handicraft Industry has set up a centre in capital Gangtok to provide training and employment to unemployed youth and school dropouts in the art of making traditional masks.
