MGNREGA causes dip in migration from Orissa

The poverty ridden Orissa is experiencing a wind of change. The high rate of migration in the one of the poorest districts of Bolangir has come down due to the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNERGA). The beneficiaries of the MGNREGA are poor tribal people, who said that post-migration they used to face a lot of exploitation and abuse at their workplace.
