Modi named BJP's poll panel chief for 2014
Updated on Jun 09, 2013 03:41 pm IST
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday finally made its big announcement on making Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as its poll panel chief for the upcoming Assembly elections and the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. BJP President, Rajnath Singh made the formal announcement for the same. The announcement came a day after a clearly divided BJP could not take any decision on Saturday after strong resistance from senior leader L K Advani and his reported camp. Reportedly Advani offered a compromise formula, suggesting that Modi be appointed as the convenor and not the chairman of the poll panel.
