Mubarak's supporters strike back, hundreds injured

The ongoing political turmoil in Egypt deepened further as supporters of President Hosni Mubarak opened fire on protesters in Cairo's Tahrir Square on Thursday killing four people and injuring hundreds. The supporters of Mubarak heavily outnumbered protestors and charged in on horses and camels and began beating their opponents. Opposition leader Mohammed ElBaradei called on the army to stop the violence. The army - who've stayed neutral throughout the recent protests- eventually fired water jets to calm things down.
