Mumbai's security beefed up for New Year celebration

In wake of intelligence outputs of militants trying to disrupt the festive season, Mumbai Police on Friday beefed up security to prevent any eventuality. The city has turned into a fortress, with police officials tightening security across the city through stringent checks. Security has also been tightened near the Hotel Taj, which had borne the brunt of 26/11 carnage. Traffic police personnel were seen thoroughly frisking the passersby.
