Munaf Patel

The 6 ft 3 inch tall, strong man, once regarded as the fastest bowler of India, Munaf Patel is the paceman of team India. Born on 12 July 1983 in Ikhar, Gujarat to a family, which was opposed to cricket, Patel made his career debut in 2006 against England. He has earned the nickname Brett Lee from Bahruch for his pace. He is the man trained under Dennis Lillee at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai. He responded to his recall to ODI team for the first time in nine months by taking three wickets against New Zealand in. Patel first gained prominence in 2003 at the age of 20 before he had even played first class cricket for Gujarat, when he was invited to the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai by the Indian chairman of selectors Kiran More. He drew the attention of Former Australian captain Steve Waugh, and the director Dennis Lillee with his swings.
