Chief Minister of Orissa, Naveen Patnaik is to prove majority in the state assembly on March 11. The Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday withdrew support to Patnaik's Biju Janata Dal following breakdown of seat-sharing talks for the forthcoming state assembly and parliamentary elections. Though the snapping of BJP-BJD alliance is only of academic interest as Patnaik would only cease to be the caretaker state.
