The nine-day-protest programme announced by the separatist Hurriyat Conference on Friday in Jammu and Kashmir has upset locals. After more than three weeks of curfews and shutdowns, life was returning to normalcy in the valley but the protest programme, called in connection with the Hurriyat Conference's 'Quit Kashmir Campaign' has again engulfed Kashmir Valley. The programme includes a complete shutdown today, protests by government employees on Monday and sit-ins by locals on Wednesday and Thursday. The locals are displeased with the shutdown call, as it would again disrupt everyday life.
