One killed, five wounded in Mathura stampede

One person was killed and five others were injured in a stampede which occured when an overhead water tank on a temple roof burst in Jalalpur district of Mathura today. Local administration claimed that thousands of devotees had come to visit a spiritual teacher abode. They had assembled at the spot to drink water. Meanwhile, angry mob vandalised the makeshift shops and torched the goods. Locals said that there was no arrangement in place to avert the untoward incident.
