Onion traders strike in Delhi
Updated on Jan 12, 2011 09:20 pm IST
Onions continue to bring more tears as now onion traders have decided to go on strike to protest the Income Tax raids at Azadpur wholesale market. This is sure to create scarcity of onions, which in turn would further escalate the prices of the vegetable. The traders claim that during the raids, the Income tax officers demand bribes from them due to which they have to resort to this extreme step. However, the brunt is mainly to be born by the locals of Delhi who are already troubled with skyrocketing onion prices. They are continuously demanding some 'effective' measures to tackle the onion prices.
