Orissa govt agrees to 8 out of 14 Maoist demands

Orissa government on Monday accepted eight out of 14 demands made by the Maoists for the release of Malkangiri Collector R. Vineel Krishna and Junior Engineer Pabitra Majhi. He also said that the mediators, Someswara Rao and Har Gopal, have assured that the health condition of abducted officers is good. As the talks on the Maoists' demands remained inconclusive for the second day, the government said it was confident that the abducted officials would be released shortly.
