Updated on Sept 08, 2015 06:25 pm IST
The President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, Asaduddin Owaisi, has condemned the decision of the Maharashtra government to ban beef for eight days during the time Jain community observes fast. Owaisi said that the state government's decision is unjustified questioning whether it would be tolerable if during Bakra Eid only meat would be served. He said that the government should use its power to reduce the ban limit to just two days so that the traders do not suffer.
