The royal residence of Jodhpur — Umaid Bhawan Palace was basking in all its glory on Tuesday evening. The royal flag of Marwar was fluttering high as a testimony to the regal wedding of a scion of the family after a long period. The occasion was the "nikasi", a pre-wedding ritual, of Shivraj Singh, the only son of erstwhile ruler Gaj Singh, an ace polo player of his times. The traditional ceremony of the "Rathore" clan was accompanied by a performance by the royal band.
