Patil to review security situation in Assam

Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil will begin a two-day visit to Assam on Tuesday to review the security situation in the state. Patil's visit comes in the wake of an increase in violent activities of the banned United Liberation Front of Asom after the breakdown of Centre's peace initiative with the rebels. Patil will chair a high-level meeting at Guwahati on Tuesday and will discuss the security scenario with Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and other top officials.
