Orissa's Chief Minister Navin Patnaik on Tuesday said that the Orissa government would not permit shutdown in the state on Christmas called by some Hindu groups. Patnaik's statement comes in response to the announcement made by Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati Sradhanjali Samiti, to observe Orissa Bandh on December 25, if the government failed to arrest those involved in the murder of local Hindu leader, Swami Laxmananda Saraswati.
