People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday called for more autonomy and open borders in the divided Himalayan region. Senior PDP leader and former state chief Mufti Mohammad Sayeed urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to call for a round table conference for the resolution of the Kashmir issue that would involve all stakeholders, including separatists into it. He put forward four conditions that included release of political prisoners and revoking of certain laws like the Article 356, also known as the President's rule through which a state legislature is dissolved or suspended and the state is placed under direct central rule.
