PM hopeful of Parliament's smooth functioning

After a complete wash off of the last parliament session owing to deadlock between ruling alliance and opposition over JPC, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has expressed hope that the Budget session starting today, will proceed peacefully, as this session is very important for the country. Talking to mediapersons today ahead of the start of the session, Singh said apart from Budget, many important legislations are to be tabled in the session. Amidst reports that government will shortly make announcement of setting up a JPC on 2G-scam, Congress MP Rajiv Shukla asserted, in order to ensure smooth functioning of Parliament, government is ready to take all necessary steps.
