PM Manmohan Singh lauds nation's rise on global stage

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh lauded the country's growing economic and political rise on the global stage, while releasing senior Rajya Sabha member and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) president Karan Singh's latest book, 'Kashmir and Beyond' in New Delhi on Wednesday. Addressing a gathering of distinguished guests, scholars and activists, Singh attributed the nation's impressive growth to the strong democratic and liberal principles followed by the government. The Prime Minister maintained the rise of India was due to its commitment to human rights and individual freedom.
