Police gun down five Maoists in Odisha

Acting on a tip off, Security forces gunned down five Maoists in an encounter in a forest bordering Ganjam and Gajapati districts of Odisha. Speaking to reporters, a senior police official said that operation was launched in the jungle after specific information about the movement of Maoists. Police has recovered arms, which include pistols, guns, explosives and ammunitions. According to reports, the dead rebels belonged to Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda's group.
