Police seize arms and ammunition in Burdwan

State police of Burdwan district of West Bengal state seized huge cache of arms and ammunition on Saturday. The arms recovered were a U.S. made 9 mm pistol, one sten carbine gun, and 35 rounds of cartridges from the house of CPI-Maoist leaders Najim Sekh and Atar Sekh. The CPI-M leaders had escaped before the raid. A few days back election commission officers visited the villages in the state and ordered police to seize illegal arms.
