Providing relief to aam aadmi is govt’s top priority: Patil

President Pratibha Patil,addressing the joint session of Parliament on the opening day of the Budget Session on Monday,said checking inflation and providing relief to aam aadmi (common man) from higher food prices was her government's top priority.The President also reiterated the government's commitment to bringing forth a legislation to ensure food security.She also expressed confidence that the Indian economy would grow by 7.5 percent in 2009-10 and at an even higher pace of 8 percent in the coming fiscal.
