Raj Babbar joins Congress party

Bollywood actor-turned -politician, Raj Babbar has joined the Congress Party. He did so at a massive rally in Agra on Sunday. Babbar is a Member of Parliament since 2004. He joined the Congress in the presence of party general secretary Digvijay Singh and state Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi. The Congress and SP are allies at the federal level and were expected to forge an alliance in the most populous state ahead of next general elections slated for 2009.
