The 2nd bowler in the world to bowl the carrom ball after Ajantha Mendis of Sri Lanka and, R. Ashwin has carved a niche for himself in a short span of time. Born on 17th September, 1986 is team India's new right arm off-break bowler. An engineering graduate in IT, Ashwin made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka where he scored a smashing 38 runs from 32 balls. However he was unable to take any wicket in the match but his economy rate was quite impressive. Ashwin was also the highest wicket taker in the 2010 Champions League Twenty20 tournament for Chennai Super Kings with 13 wickets. He subsequently adjudged the player of the tournament and also got the Golden Wicket.
