Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday paid homage to the ten paramilitary personnel who died yesterday after a Border Security Force (BSF) plane crashed west Delhi's Dwarka area.
During the last rites, a victim's family member asked the home minister “Har baar sipaahi ki family hi kyun roti hai, Sir? (Why does only a soldier's family cry every time?)”. Other family members questioned the authorities and demanded “outdated planes be replaced, do not want this tragedy to happen to someone else.” The BSF has promised Rs 20 lakhs to the family members of the victims from its internal insurance fund in addition to any compensation announced by the government.
