Rs 500-crore relief for Ponzi-scheme victims

With the TMC Government in West Bengal drawing sharp criticism from the opposition parties over the alleged fraud by collapsed ponzi fund company Saradha Group, chief minister Mamata Banerjee has announced Rs. 5,000 crore relief for the victims. The West Bengal state government has constituted a special committee to undertake instant probe in the Ponzi scheme scam. It has been alleged that this investment company duped life-long savings of thousands of depositors, mostly with meagre source of income.
