Scheme to pay wages to Indian workers losing jobs

Indian Labour Minister on Monday said that the Indian workers losing jobs to receive wages for six months under the Rajiv Gandhi Suraksha Yojna social security scheme. Addressing the Lok Sabha, Oscar Fernandes said that this scheme has been introduced for immediate relief to the workers. They will be provided unemployment allowance in cash equivalent to about 50 per cent of their wage for a maximum period of six months.
