Security beefed up ahead of Amarnath Yatra

Security has been beefed up in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, ahead of religious Amarnath Yatra. To prevent any untoward incident, the government has deployed enough security along 300-kilometre-long Jammu-Srinagar highway. J Majumdar, the Commandant of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) said all necessary precautions have been taken to ensure a safe journey to pilgrims. The annual Hindu Amarnath Yatra attracts hundreds and thousands of pilgrims each year and has already witnessed registration by 200,000 pilgrims from across India.
