Security forces open fire on Kashmiri protesters

At least 21 people were injured on Friday when paramilitary Central Police Reserve Force soldiers opened fire in Srinagar on a mob that was protesting against the detention of a youth and seeking his whereabouts. Thousands of protesters charged towards a CRPF picket after they were not given the information that was sought. Meanwhile, addressing a gathering the chairman of the moderate faction of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq reiterated the demand for the removal of troops.
