Several Indian cities turn off light to observe Earth Hour

Showing concern towards environment, Indians joined hands with people in 131 countries to observer Earth hour, a global initiative to spread awareness on climate change. Lights were turned off for an hour from 8.30 pm across several Indian cities including Delhi and Mumbai. To mark the celebration, several iconic buildings such as the Hotel Taj and Gateway of India switched off their lights. Several enthusiastic participants of the event came out on street holding candles urging people across the world to participate in the event.
