Adding to the number of Maoists laying down the arms, three rebels named Meena Palka and his daughters Laxmi and Saraswati, surrendered in Rayagada district of Orissa on Wednesday. Superintendent of Police of Rayagada district, Anoop Krishna, said they were working with the ultras from last 11 years and as some of their group leaders surrendered, so it motivated them to come to the main stream as well. Krishna added that the ultras recruit female cadres to lure young boys and keep them active in the outfit. The surrendered female Maoist cadres revealed that they were forced to marry the male cadres and suffered sexual exploitation at the hands of Maoist leaders in the rebel camps.
