SFI leader chained to hospital bed, TMC faces flak

A SFI student leader Santosh Sahani who was arrested after a clash with ruling Trinamool Congress activists in Siliguri was chained to his bed at a state-run hospital in judicial custody. Sahani, who was arrested on April 10 fell ill while in judicial custody and was admitted to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital near Siliguri. CPI (M) leader and former Urban development minister of West Bengal Ashok Bhattacharya went to visit Sahani and found him chained to the bed. He took up the matter with the hospital authorities after which Sahani was unchained.
