Sharif held, deported to Saudi Arabia

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who returned home on Monday after spending seven years in exile, has been deported to Jeddah. Earlier, Sharif, who chose detention over deportation, was detained and handed over to the Punjab police after he landed at the Islamabad airport. Nawaz earlier refused to disembark from the plane without his supporters and British lawyers but finally left the aircraft with party officials.
