A shutdown called by Maoists paralysed life in Jharkhand on Friday. Jharkhand is one of the six states where the Maoist rebels called the shutdown, over the killing of two of their leaders by the police. The shutdown brought all activity to a standstill in the state capital Ranchi. Shops and other establishments were closed, and public transport services were hit badly because of shutdown.
