Shutdown in Chennai over Sri Lankan issue

Shops and other business establishments observed a shutdown in Tamil Nadu's state capital on Wednesday to protest against the ongoing conflict in Tamil dominated area of Sri Lanka.The opposition parties have called for a shutdown across the state to express solidarity towards the Sri Lankan Tamils. Meanwhile,advocates in Coimbatore took to streets, demanding central government's intervention in stopping the Sri Lankan offensive on rebels.
