The Shri Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti, which is spearheading a campaign against the cancellation of land allotted to a revered shrine, has said that it plans to extend its shutdown for another 72 hours. The situation is tense Hindu-dominated since the Samiti defied a curfew imposed by the region's authorities. Curfew has been force since Monday after police and demonstrators clashed with each other over the forestland issue.
