Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) on Tuesday declared to protest against the US for hurting the religious sentiments of the community during security checking at various US airports. The Sikh community was upset after Hardeep Singh Puri, India's permanent representative to the United Nations, was asked by the US airport security staff to remove his turban for security reasons. While addressing media persons in Amritsar, SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar said that the recent incident has hurt the religious sentiment of the community.
