Situation not handled well: Nitish on Madhubani shootout

Even as opposition parties hit out at JDU-led Bihar government holding widespread protests throughout the day, state chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday ordered a judicial probe into the Madhubani shootout. Addressing a media conference in Patna, Nitish admitted that had the situation been handled well, public sentiments would not have been hurt. Nitish further urged people to maintain calm and refrain from violence. Meanwhile, leading a protest rally, against the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav accused the Nitish government of misgovernance and widespread corruption in the state.
