SP Rift: Azam Khan offers to quit

Senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan today confirmed the reports that he has offered to resign from the Uttar Pradesh cabinet ministry. Miffed with Akhilesh's decision to take away Meerut district, from his charge, Khan who is also state urban development and minorities welfare minister, in a letter written to him on Wednesday, offered to resign from the post of minister in-charge of Ghaziabad and Muzaffarnagar districts which he takes care of. He also stated that if he is not qualified to be a minister, he can quit from the government. Khan added that there are some anti party elements who leaked the letter's content to media.
