Special schools for Gypsy children launched

The Education for all campaign has reached the educationally and economically backward gypsy community in Tamil Nadu.The gypsy community known as 'Nerikuravar' lives a Nomadic life with members wandering from places to places for livelihood. So in order to educate them a residential school has been set up for the Gypsy children under the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan.This initiative is jointly taken up by the local administration and the Gypsies Development Society.
