Specially abled participate in rally to observe International Disability Day in Kolkata

People suffering from physical or mental affliction participated in a rally in Kolkata today to observe the International Day of People with Disability. According to media reports, over one billion people, or approximately 15 per cent of the world's population, live with some form of disability. Persons with disabilities, who are the world's largest minority, often face barriers in every aspect of society. Former Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee, said that it was a shame that specially abled people come out on streets and raise their voice in demand of basic entitlements.
