Sri Lanka not an enemy country: Khurshid
Updated on Feb 27, 2013 07:11 pm IST
Replying to the accusation of AIADMK and the Left parties that the government was not doing anything for the Tamils in Sri Lanka, Union External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid during the debate on Sri Lankan war crimes in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday said that the government was committed to bringing justice to Lankan Tamils. Khurshid also said that Sri Lanka is not an enemy country but India believes there should be accountability regarding serious allegations of human rights violations against the Tamils. Meanwhile, expressing disappointment over Khurshid's reply, the AIADMK, the DMK and the Left walked out of the Rajya Sabha.
