Sushma Swaraj urges Lankan president to release Sarath Fonseka

Sushma Swaraj, opposition leader of Bharatiya Janata party on Wednesday appealed Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa to immediately release General Sarath Fonseka, the former chief of the island's army. Tensions have risen in Sri Lanka since former army commander Fonseka was arrested on Monday by military police on charges of engaging in politics against Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
