Tawang ready to welcome Dalai Lama

Residents hung decorations and cleaned the streets leading to the Tawang Monastery in Arunachal Pradesh to prepare for the contentious visit of the Dalai Lama to the town close to the China border. The exiled Tibetan spiritual leader is due to begin a weeklong visit today to Arunachal Pradesh. Despite the tension, the people of Tawang were eagerly getting ready to roll out the red carpet for the rare visitor.
